Feeling Distant During Ramadan

As-Salaam-Alaikum, everyone. It's Ramadan, but instead of feeling uplifted, I'm overwhelmed with shame and guilt. I'm doing all the right things-fasting, praying, making dua-but my heart feels dark and disconnected. I'm not experiencing that spiritual spark or rejuvenation I hear about. Even though I've repented for some mistakes I made, the guilt just won't leave. It makes me question if my rushed prayers are even being accepted. I just feel so lost and tired, and far from Allah's closeness.

I could've written this myself. It's my third Ramadan feeling exactly like this. The guilt is heavy, especially when you're trying so hard. Sending you love.

Sis, the fact you're worried about this shows your iman is there. The spark isn't always fireworks; sometimes it's just the struggle to show up.
