An Overwhelming Fear That Keeps Me Thinking of Gaza

Assalamu alaikum. The current situation in the Gulf has truly terrified me, and it constantly brings the struggles of our Palestinian brothers and sisters to mind. I'm living in a place where airstrikes are happening frequently. They claim the targets are military, but it's regular families who endure the fear, the deafening sounds, and the constant not-knowing. It's mentally draining and deeply traumatic. My mother is quite ill and was scheduled for a critical surgery, but everything's been postponed because of the instability. Seeing her in pain while I can do nothing is heartbreaking. I feel adrift and anxious nonstop. I've always dealt with anxiety, but these days it's become unbearable. The ongoing stress has sparked panic attacks and relentless worry. My thoughts spiral into the darkest possibilities, and finding any tranquility feels impossible. And my heart always returns to Gaza. Wallahi, what we're facing is minimal compared to their daily reality. Even our brief period of uncertainty has shaken us to the core, making me truly admire their immense sabr and strength. It's Ramadan, and I longed to dedicate this time to peaceful worship, but my heart is so burdened and unsettled. Focusing on ibadah is a struggle when fear and worry dominate. If you make dua, please remember: * Protection for all innocent lives * For this situation to find a peaceful resolution soon * For my mother's health to improve and her surgery to proceed * For Allah to relieve my anxiety and gift me with inner calm I just had to express this; the weight feels too heavy to bear alone. If you have any comforting words, a Quranic ayah, or a Hadith to share, it would mean so much.

Gaza is always on my mind too. Their sabr is beyond anything. We pray for them and for you.

It’s so hard to focus on ibadah right now, you’re not alone. Allah sees your struggle.
