Dealing with anxiety as a new Muslim and handling criticism from others
As-salamu alaykum! I embraced Islam not long ago after more than a year of learning and reading, and alhamdulillah, it’s been a beautiful change. But lately, I’ve been struggling with this heavy feeling-like no matter how much I try, I always fall short. There’s this emptiness and fear that I’m messing up, and it’s exhausting. On top of that, when I talk to born Muslims, they often point out my mistakes or correct me in a way that feels harsh. I end up feeling judged and really anxious. I know learning takes time, but it’s tough when it seems like nothing I do is good enough. How do you handle the pressure to be perfect and the criticism from others? How did you build a calm, close bond with Allah without getting lost in all the rules? Jazakum Allahu khayran for any advice. I’d love to hear from other reverts or anyone with experience. May Allah guide us all. Ameen. ❤️
