Struggling with my iman and feeling lost
Assalamu alaikum, I'm reaching out because I don't have many people to turn to for advice. I've been praying all my fardh since it became obligatory for me, and I've been wearing hijab for just as long. I always tried to avoid talking to boys at school and stay away from sin, though I admit I slip up sometimes with minor sins but I really try. For the past few years, I've been waking up for tahajjud almost every night whenever possible. About two years ago, I was very focused on my deen-praying sunnah, avoiding music and only listening to nasheeds and Quran, and really trying to avoid lying, backbiting, etc. My connection with Allah was the strongest it had ever been; I felt I could trust Him completely and never worry about anything. Fast forward to this year. I fell back into listening to music last year, and I want to work on stopping that. I still pray all my salah, wake up for tahajjud, make dua, and wear hijab. Early this year, I started talking to a man, which lasted a couple months. I was struggling with my deen during that time-it felt like a choice between Islam and love, but I never lost faith. I still loved my religion and tried in other areas, but looking back, that relationship led me to many sins, astaghfirullah. After a few months, I told him the guilt was overwhelming and ended it. He understood. But around that time, something happened that made me feel abandoned and very alone, and my faith started weakening. I went back to him because I was depressed and felt I had no one else. Last month, my faith got really weak and I hated it, so I cut him off again, and insha'Allah I won't reach out again. I started focusing on myself and my deen, making more dua and asking forgiveness. It helped for a while, but about a week ago I started struggling again and made lots of dua for help. I've realized my duas are not being accepted. I ask for things that need to happen soon-like the next day or week-and they never come true, even though they seem reasonable. This makes me think about all the duas over the years that haven't been answered, and now I worry about my future because I make many duas about it. I might be overthinking, but I usually wake up for fajr almost every day. Yesterday during tahajjud, I prayed that I would wake up (even though I usually do), and I missed fajr that night. Today I prayed again to wake up, and I didn't wake up again. I know it shouldn't be a big deal, but with everything else, it makes me feel hopeless. I'm trying my best, and Allah is the Most Merciful. I don't understand what I've done so wrong that my duas are being rejected, but I really want to strengthen my iman and feel close to Him again. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Please be kind in your comments; I'm just a sister struggling and wanting to fix things.
