Ministry of Social Affairs Sends Clean Water Aid to Thousands of Residents Affected by Drought in Pangandaran
The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) has distributed clean water aid to 7,973 people or 2,681 households in 22 villages across nine sub-districts in Pangandaran Regency, West Java, affected by drought since May 2026.
Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) stated that distribution is being carried out intensively to meet residents' clean water needs. The aid, consisting of one water tank truck, six water tanks, and six water purification kits, is centered in Limusgede Village, Cimerak Sub-district, one of the worst-hit areas with 2,561 people.
Gus Ipul emphasized that distribution will be adjusted to the conditions and needs of residents, and will continue to coordinate with the regional government. Kemensos also appreciates the Pangandaran Regency Government for implementing a Drought Emergency Response Status until September 30, 2026.
