182 People's Schools Successfully Built, President Prabowo: No Investment More Valuable Than a Child's Future

The government has successfully built 93 permanent People's Schools in less than a year. Plus the pioneer schools that are still active, the total number of People's Schools now operating reaches 182 locations. That number will continue to grow, because every regency/city is targeted to have at least one People's School. President Prabowo Subianto believes that People's Schools are a hope for children from the poorest families to regain their right to learn and reach a better future. "There is no investment more valuable than restoring a child's future," said President Prabowo in the Annual Session of the MPR RI and the Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday (14/8). People's Schools are boarding school concept, with complete facilities like housing, places of worship, sports facilities, digital ecosystem, nutritious food, and a safe and comfortable environment. This school aims to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty through access to free and quality education and empowerment programs for students' parents. The President shared various achievements of People's School students, including 7 People's School students in Makassar winning the 15th Indonesian National Olympiad, and a People's School student from Polewali Mandar, Ismi Ulfaida, passing as a member of the national-level Paskibraka.
