A Question About How Some Muslims Express Interest in Marriage
Salaam, I hope you're all doing well. I'm a Christian woman, and I work with a Muslim brother who is very respectful and clearly devout in his faith. Recently, he spoke to me and said something along the lines of, 'You have a very kind character. I would like for us to meet in a public setting to talk and see if our values and thoughts are compatible, with the intention of considering marriage if we find we are suitable for each other.' He mentioned that in Islam, marriage with People of the Book is permissible. He's originally from the Middle East and his family isn't here. I'm just wondering, is this a common approach among Muslims when considering marriage? Jazakum Allahu khairan for any insight.
