We can't change our faith just because it suits us
Assalamu alaikum, folks. I’ve been noticing more and more creators online saying that how you act doesn’t really matter in Islam. You see stuff like "I used to stress about listening to music being haram" or "you’re still Muslim even if you skip this or that." They often push the idea that just having a personal bond with Allah is enough. Of course, a sincere connection with Allah and good intentions are huge, no doubt. But as Muslims, we still have obligations and core beliefs we can’t ignore. It’s honestly risky to go on social media and suggest that fard duties or basic tenets of Islam are optional, or that you can just feel your way around them. Just to be clear, there’s a big difference between someone struggling with a sin but knowing it’s wrong, and someone who outright denies what our deen requires. We gotta keep that in mind. Like the Quran reminds us: "Do you believe in part of the Book and reject the rest? What is the reward for those among you who do that except disgrace in this world and severe punishment on the Day of Judgment? And Allah is not unaware of what you do" (2:85).
