Thinking about fasting as a non-Muslim?
Assalamu alaikum, hope everyone's having a blessed Ramadan! I'm not Muslim-I used to be Christian, and now I don't really follow any religion, though I do pray sometimes. I've been studying alongside a lot of Muslims for years, and many are my good friends. Every year, I see about half of them fasting during Ramadan, and it's made me curious about trying it myself for a few days. Part of it is just curiosity-I've heard of other non-Muslims doing it-and part is that I feel a bit drawn to Islam, but I won't get into all that here. My main question is: is it okay for me to fast, and how can I do it in a respectful way? I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to ask, but I really want to be mindful and not offend anyone. A friend mentioned the timings and said there's a prayer involved, but I'm not totally clear on it and I don't want to seem weird by asking too many questions. Thanks for reading, and Ramadan Mubarak to you all!
