Study: China's solar farm expansion linked to decline in bird diversity

A study published in the journal Science found that China's rapid solar energy development has reduced bird diversity. The research, covering over 2,300 counties, linked pro-solar policies to the clearing of cropland and grassland, which harmed resident and migratory birds. The authors described this as a "green dilemma" and called for more ecologically informed solar project siting.
