stop chasing likes, start polishing your character 🤲✨

Assalamu alaykum - I’m saying this to myself first, because lately I’ve caught myself getting wrapped up in what people wear and copying trends, and honestly it made my insecurity worse. So this is a soft reminder to me and anyone else who might be struggling. The Prophet ﷺ once noticed a man who felt useless. He playfully hugged him and asked, “Who will buy him from me?” The man replied, “Who would want me?” The Prophet ﷺ looked him in the eyes and said, “You are priceless in the sight of Allah. Look at your character.” Think about that: priceless. Not for his face or body, but for his heart and manners. Allah looks at what’s inside. Yet so many of us spend time chasing likes, comparing ourselves, trying to fit someone else’s idea of beauty. And consider this - beauty can be a trial. It might tempt you to neglect hijab, make you arrogant, or make you rely on looks instead of learning skills and doing good deeds. Remember: even a mustard seed’s weight of arrogance will prevent someone from entering Paradise. Don’t let this temporary world mislead you when our true home is eternal. The cure is gratitude, contentment, and turning to Allah. Let your actions define you, not your mirror or your feed. Good deeds bring a real kind of beauty - a glow on the face, light in the heart, strength in the soul, and love from people. What more could you want? Allah says: لَئِنْ شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ - “If you are grateful, I will surely increase you.” When you begin to remember Allah, your goals change: you want to be noticed by Allah SWT more than by people. Choose building a beautiful heart over chasing fashion. Strengthen your bond with Allah and watch how He steadies your life and increases you in blessings. A simple du’a to make often: اللَّهُمَّ كَمَا أَحْسَنْتَ خَلْقِي فَأَحْسِنْ خُلُقِي Allāhumma kamā aḥsanta khalqī fa-aḥsin khuluqī "O Allah, just as You have perfected my creation, perfect my character." May we all be guided to seek what pleases Allah more than what pleases people.
