Salaam everyone! I had a question about Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 61.
So the ayah talks about how the Children of Israel were punished because they disbelieved in Allah and killed the prophets. That's true, but the context here is about them asking Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) for vegetables and other foods from the land. From what I know, by the time of Musa (as), they hadn't actually killed any prophets yet, right? So it feels like they're being punished for something they didn't do at that time. Can anyone help explain this? JazakAllah khair!
