A Vital Reminder for Every Believer
Assalamu Alaikum, all praise is to Allah and peace be upon the Prophet. I’ve been reflecting a lot lately, and I think we need to remember something important. Back in the early days of Islam, our predecessors didn’t have the comforts we do today-no guaranteed food, water, or shelter-yet, alhamdulilah, the truth of Islam reached them. Islam didn’t start as some grand empire with a king. It began with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the best of creation, who brought us the truth. He and his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) faced everything: beatings, starvation, ridicule, and every kind of hardship, physical and spiritual. They endured it all, succeeded, and saw this world for what it is: just a test, a temporary illusion where things can seem unfair. I’m saying this because today, most of us live in luxury-running water, full fridges, stable homes. Don’t get me wrong, these are blessings, but they’ve made us soft. We struggle with our faith, push back against the boundaries Allah set to protect us, and get impatient over small tests. We’re so hooked on instant gratification that when someone questions Allah disrespectfully, those who correct them get labeled as extreme. Allah showed us mercy by giving us clear guidance, but in our ignorance, we’d rather dive into politics, entertainment, and sports, ignoring the perfectly preserved knowledge of our deen. In our laziness, we act like it doesn’t even exist. Fear Allah and learn your religion. Fear Allah and stay away from what He forbade-He only made things haram because they harm us. Love Allah and remember this life isn’t the end; for our patience, Allah has prepared rewards beyond imagination. Don’t let this world fool you. The people we see as successful might be crumbling inside. If stories like Epstein’s didn’t wake you up, I don’t know what will. May Allah make us strong against this dunya, grant us patience, and keep us steadfast. May this Ramadan bring sincere repentance. Ameen.
