Peace be upon you - new support measures for families in Tatarstan.
As-salamu alaykum. In Tatarstan, they've introduced a bunch of new measures aimed at supporting families and improving the demographic situation. Now, pregnant students in full-time education in the republic can expect a one-time payment of 100,000 rubles. According to the Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of Tatarstan, Elmira Zaripova, 32 young women have already received this payment.
“We understand that in a student family, where either mom or dad is studying full-time, the income is usually low. If such a young family has a baby, they need extra support,” Zaripova noted.
The 100,000 ruble payment is granted from the moment they register for pregnancy and doesn't depend on the recipients' income. The goal is to help student families and reduce the financial burdens associated with preparing for a newborn. The minister also reminded that this doesn't replace the maternity benefits of 92,000 rubles from the Social Fund of Russia.
Additionally, the expert council at the Ministry of Justice of Tatarstan has proposed to increase the stipend for guardians from 3,000 rubles (set in 2013) to 8,641 rubles due to rising prices. The bill has already been sent for review to the State Council of the republic. The aim is to strengthen social protection for foster families and create more comfortable conditions for children left without parental care, encouraging people to take on the responsibility of raising orphans. To implement this measure, about 189 million rubles will be needed from the republican budget in 2026.
Currently, there are 1,788 children being raised in foster families in Tatarstan, and it's projected that by 2026, this will drop to around 1,600, with about 230 of them belonging to the most vulnerable categories.
May Allah ease the needs of families and children, and grant wisdom to those making decisions. Thank you for your attention.
