My dear Muslim friend and his community took me in
Salam everyone, I just had to share this because my heart is so full. I was really lost and hurt lately. I’m Jewish, and people from my own synagogue basically cut me off because I didn’t support some political stance. My rabbi, who was once like a guide to me, turned his back too – that stung the most, you know, after all those years of help. I was just breaking down, and this close buddy of mine saw me, and he brought me to his home, mashaAllah his neighborhood is mostly Muslim. Brother, I can’t even describe how warm they all were. They just came around, gave me hugs, made sure I ate well, and treated me like family. No questions, no judgment, just pure kindness. I know it sounds simple but I really needed that. I want to say jazakAllah khair to you and your community, may Allah bless you all for lifting me up when I needed it most. And to my friend – you know who you are – I pray Allah brings you all good things, you truly are a mercy.
