Multiplying Blessings on Fridays: Sending Love to the Prophet ﷺ
As-salamu alaykum everyone! It's Friday again, the best day of the week! Let's take a moment to send a thousand durood upon our beloved Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah sends blessings upon him ten times' (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim). Another narration mentions that for every durood, Allah will send blessings tenfold, erase ten sins, and raise us ten degrees in status (Narrated by Aḥmad, An-Nasā’ī, and Al-Ḥākim). There's also a narration from Anas ibn Malik that says, 'Whoever recites blessings upon me one thousand times on Fridays will not die until he is shown his abode in Paradise.' I want to encourage everyone to read durood today. Here's a simple one I recite: اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ أَلْفَ أَلْفَ مَرَّةٍ (Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadin wa ālihi alfa alfa marrah), meaning 'O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad and his family a thousand thousand times.' Let's come together to multiply our blessings and show our love for the Prophet ﷺ.
