Is This Like Shirk? Need Advice on This Water Thing

Assalamu alaikum everyone, hope you're all doing well. So I'm from West Africa and there's this water my mom gets from an uncle. She says he uses it to protect her from black magic. She drinks it and washes with it. She's been really pushing me to use it too. I keep telling her it might be shirk, but she doesn't listen and is forcing me. Isn't believing that water itself can protect you shirk, since only Allah can grant protection? Also, I'm the one paying for this water because my mom depends on me financially. Even though I don't believe in it and she's making me do it, would that count as a sin on me?
