Is surrogacy allowed in Islam?

Salam alaikum. I’m trying to understand why some scholars say surrogacy is haram, even when the baby’s genes come only from the married couple, and the surrogate just carries the pregnancy without any physical relation. Could you share the Islamic reasons and proofs for this, and if there are any different views among scholars? Jazakallah khair.
