UAE's Hilal Ahmar Teams Up with UIN Ar-Raniry to Distribute 4,000 Qurbani Meat Packs to Acehnese
Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Ar-Raniry, together with the United Arab Emirates' Hilal Ahmar, has handed out 4,000 packs of qurbani meat to the university community and the public during Eid al-Adha 1447 H/2026 M. This program is part of the Tebar Hewan Kurban movement, aimed at benefiting thousands of families in Banda Aceh and Solo.
UIN Ar-Raniry Rector Prof. Mujiburrahman said the program targets 21,000 families with support from the Emirates Red Crescent. The distribution took place over two days, May 29–30, 2026, at the Prof. Ali Hasjmy Auditorium, witnessed by Sultan Faisal Al Remeithi, Chairman of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Solo Foundation, and Banda Aceh Mayor Illiza Sa'aduddin Djamal.
Head of the Qurbani Committee Dr. Muqni Affan explained that a total of 64 cows and 2 goats were slaughtered, with 42 cows provided by the UAE. As many as 2,100 packs were for the campus community and 1,900 packs for the wider public.
Mayor Illiza sees the program as a symbol of cross-border compassion, while Sultan Faisal highlighted the strong Indonesia-UAE ties in social, educational, and religious fields. This collaboration is expected to continue and bring even greater benefits.
