Is it okay to want to be a homemaker in today's world?
Assalamu alaikum, I really don’t feel like working a job or going out into the workforce. I love being at home and I’ve been trying to learn cooking so I can be a better homemaker, inshaAllah. But people keep pushing me to get a job and be independent, saying I need to be street smart and deal with people. I just don’t like professional settings, going out, and having to interact with men in that way-it feels uncomfortable. Plus, I dream of a nice religious husband who’s my best friend, you know? Like those sweet moments you see in films, I want all of that with him, but in a halal way. I’m well-educated, just graduated recently, so I don’t want my husband to look down on me. I just want to be respected, loved, and take care of a lovely home and family. Is that possible nowadays?
