Does Allah delay what you deeply want because He's preparing to bless you with it? I need advice

I finished college in December and have been desperately hunting for a research job since then. I tried everything in my city and got nowhere, so I started applying out of state to a facility I've always dreamed of working at. After tons of rejections back home and only unpaid roles available, I finally got some interviews at the out-of-state place, but they take forever to get back with results. This whole wait has pushed me to pray more tahajjud and make more dua. Has anyone else been through something like this? A time when you faced a string of 'no's and rejections, felt like your duas and effort weren't paying off, but then Allah blessed you in the end?
