Understanding Qur'an Interaction Without Wudu

Assalamu alaikum, I was thinking about something important regarding our approach to the Qur'an. Is it permissible to read or even just touch the Qur'an if you haven't made wudu? I remember a respected scholar, one of the teachers at the Prophet's Mosque, Sheikh Mohammed bin Saleh, clarified this point. He explained that yes, it is generally allowed. However, there's an exception when you're in a state of major impurity, like during the menstrual cycle, after ejaculation, or following childbirth bleeding. In those cases, it's best to avoid direct contact. Alhamdulillah for clear guidance. May Allah reward us all with goodness.
