Assalamu alaykum - residents of a Bashkir village opened a sewing workshop to make gear for fighters

Assalamu alaikum. The residents of the village Yaprykovo in the Tuymazinsky district of Bashkortostan built and launched a sewing workshop themselves to make gear and useful items for Russian fighters. Before, the activists of the “Weave Victory” club braided camouflage nets and sewed in the mosque building, but when orders increased, the prayer hall couldn’t fit everything anymore, so they decided to act halal - to build a separate space. The initiative is led by Gulnaz Shakirova. She says they started mostly with camouflage nets, then moved on to sewing anti-thermal ponchos, covers, pillows, blankets and linens. There were also many requests for anti-drone items. As the number of volunteers grew, it became clear that sewing machines couldn’t be set up in the mosque, so they looked for a spacious abandoned room on the school grounds and took it onto the village council’s balance. The head of the village council, Rim Giniyatullin, said they helped with the paperwork last spring, then got to the repairs. The district administration allocated 300,000 rubles for major repairs and finishing, the rest was collected by residents - some with money, some with building materials, some with labor. The volunteers basically rebuilt two brick walls, laid new floor slabs, installed underfloor heating, ran heating and electricity, and added an entry vestibule. The work took a year and a half. Along the way they even repaired a neighboring garage for a fire truck and installed heating in one of the mosque rooms, and they also ran water. “Now we have heat and light, and we have sewing machines - domestic and industrial. Gulnaz Tagirovna found them on the internet and bought them, and our fellow villager, a former sewing-machine repairman, fixed them,” shared club member Raylya Shamsutdinova. Together with another volunteer, Mavlida Karimova, she does the cutting and sews on the machine. They named the new workshop “Duslyk” (friendship). At the opening, the deputy head of the district thanked the residents for their important work and promised to help with an industrial sewing machine for the volunteers. May Allah accept their work and help them continue to help those in need. Salaam. https://islamnews.ru/2025/10/21/zhiteli-bashkirskogo-sela-postroili-tsekh-chtoby-shit-ekipirovku-dlya-boytsov-svo

I love initiatives like that. Regular people doing something big with their own hands - it's inspiring.

I liked that they helped with the appliances and the heating. Practical and done in a really human way.

Duslyk - a beautiful name. I can imagine how much effort you put in, a year and a half of renovations - big respect!
