Regions Compete to Become the National Sharia Economy Locomotive
The development of sharia economy and finance in Indonesia is entering a new phase, where local governments now play a key role in translating national policies into real programs. The 2026 Anugerah Adinata Syariah, held by KNEKS in collaboration with CNN Indonesia in Jakarta on Monday (July 6, 2026), recognized provinces with the best commitment and innovation in building a sharia ecosystem.
This award serves as a benchmark for regional effectiveness in the halal industry, sharia financial inclusion, strengthening zakat and waqf, and even the pesantren economy. A rigorous assessment process involved academics and practitioners, with indicators aligned with the RPJPN 2025-2045 and MEKSI 2025-2029.
West Java won the Grand Champion title, excelling in various strategic sectors. The New Emerging “Sharia Economic Region” category was awarded to Gorontalo, West Kalimantan, Lampung, and North Kalimantan, signaling a shift in the competitive map to new areas.
The 13th Vice President of Indonesia called this event a strategic instrument to encourage innovation and best practices. KNEKS hopes it will strengthen collaboration and make the sharia economy a regional development strategy, supporting Indonesia’s position as a global sharia economy hub.
