As a new Muslim convert, is it okay to pray in secret?

Salam everyone. I recently took my Shahada and started praying in my room. Since I still live with my family who follow a different religion, I've been making sure to pray discreetly to avoid any judgment or conflict-things I'm not ready to handle right now, as I'm going through a lot. I do plan to tell my family about my reversion, but I'm waiting for the right time. I know some Muslims face persecution and have no choice, but in my case, it's more about fear.
