Always Ask Allah for What Is Best (Khair)
Assalamualaikum everyone, About a year ago I started at a new company and noticed a brother in the prayer area who seemed like everything I imagined in a future husband. He ticked a lot of my boxes, though there were still things I thought I might have to compromise on. Being young and not used to Muslim men showing interest, I was thrilled when he seemed to give signals. I got obsessed, honestly. I began making dua that he would be my husband. Social media didn’t help - everywhere I saw posts saying Allah will bring that person to you, so don’t give up. At first he appeared very pious and shy, and I excused his inconsistencies as just being reserved. He kept me guessing for about a year until I grew emotionally exhausted. I made one final sincere dua: “If he is good for me, let him be; if not, remove him from my heart.” That's when things became clear and I saw his true character. I really dodged a major bullet - Alhamdulillah. My advice to brothers and sisters: avoid making dua for a specific person. It’s not that Allah won’t grant it, but we don’t truly know what we’re asking for. I used to brush off posts that warned about this, yet here I am writing from experience. Thanks for reading. May Allah guide us all and grant us what is best (khair).
