A simple 3-day challenge - Bismillah
As-salamu alaykum everyone! Let's try a simple, 3-day challenge - ready? Starting now, make sincere tawbah to Allah for what you've done knowingly and unknowingly. Ask al-Ghaffar, al-Ghafoor, al-ʿAfuw, al-Ghafoor ar-Raheem to forgive your small and big sins, to shower His mercy on you, to keep you firm in your deen and to protect you. Now the challenge: for each of the next three days (each day a 24-hour period), choose a comfortable number between 100 and 500 for each of the following and complete them that day: 1) Istighfar (saying astaghfirullah) - 100–500 times 2) Tasbeeh/tahmeed/tahlil/takbeer (SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illa Allah, Allahu Akbar) - 100–500 times each 3) Durood upon the Prophet ﷺ - 100–500 times (Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, or any durood you prefer) You don’t need to do them all at once. Split them up before or after salah, while commuting, doing chores, on your lunch break, walking, or 15 minutes before sleep - whatever fits your routine. The point is consistency over the 24‑hour day. I do this sometimes when I feel stuck, overwhelmed, or in a spiritual rut (our iman naturally goes up and down). It also helps when you have something specific to ask Allah but aren’t sure how to begin - start with these dhikr and then make your du’a. Let’s do it, and feel free to share how you’re doing so we can encourage one another - especially for brothers and sisters who are new or returning after a break (I’ve been there). Just take that first step. May Allah accept our efforts. Ameen.
