Why the Sudden Criticism of Muslims?

As-salamu alaykum, I've been noticing a trend lately that's really got me wondering. It seems like people from almost every background, including atheists and agnostics, are criticizing Muslims. I came across a post that was disrespecting Islam, specifically talking about the hijab our sisters wear. The post was not only disrespectful but also completely missed the point about the importance of modesty for both men and women, and how it can impact societal issues. This got me thinking, why are Muslims being targeted? Is there something I'm missing? I always thought atheists were neutral and didn't take sides. Has something recently changed? Alhamdu lillah, as Muslims, we should remain steadfast in our faith and remember that we are not alone in this. Let's focus on spreading peace, love, and understanding.
