What Comes to Mind When You Remember Allah?
I’m asking for a reason. I’m a sister in my 30s, raised Muslim and still practicing, alhamdulillah. I’m not one of those who’s always doing dhikr, reading Qur'an, or helping out at the masjid. I keep up with my fard and try to be a good person, but I’m nowhere near the level of the really devoted ones. Something has shifted in me lately. It’s hard to put into words, but I can’t stop thinking about Allah. I’m already a worrier by nature, so maybe my mind turned to this for comfort. My days are ordinary, but I’ve got a lot of quiet time and solitude, so distractions are few. If I had to explain exactly what fills my mind, I honestly couldn’t-so that’s why I’m asking. I wonder how this is for others. Does it link to emotions or hard times? I hope that makes some sense. I’m just trying to figure it out. Just to add: it’s mostly a sweet feeling, I love Him deeply, I’m conscious of His presence, I talk to Him and make du’aa, but I also fret about His plans for me, whether my du’aas are accepted, and if I’m truly on the straight path.
