Bambang Widjojanto Says Febrie Adriansyah Case Is Like KPK vs KPK
Former KPK leader Bambang Widjojanto reckons the handling of the case trapping former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah creates an unusual situation. He calls this phenomenon "KPK against KPK" since a lot of people involved have backgrounds as former KPK insiders.
Bambang shared that early on in the discussions, there was a request to not involve the KPK at all. The issue was even talked about in a meeting at the President level. "In the initial discussion, there was a sort of closed-door meeting, and they said don't involve the KPK. Don't make Febrie a suspect," he said on his personal YouTube channel, Thursday (30/7/2026).
But the fact is, the case-handling team is dominated by former KPK employees: seven out of nine members come from the anti-corruption body. This team is not under Jampidsus, but supervised by the Junior Attorney General for Supervision, who is also a former KPK insider.
Febrie is now detained at the KPK detention center, while his legal counsel is former KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah. "So this is KPK vs KPK," concluded Bambang.
