Volunteer Ahmad Zaki Dies During Humanitarian Mission in NTT, Lost Consciousness on the Way
Ahmad Zaki Ali, a volunteer and founder of Yayasan Gerak Bareng, passed away while carrying out a humanitarian mission for earthquake victims in East Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, on Friday, August 21, 2026. He breathed his last around 4:40 PM WITA in the Satar Padut area, Satar Padut Village, North Lamba Leda District, East Manggarai Regency.
Manggarai Police Chief AKBP Levi Defriansyah explained that Ahmad Zaki, along with three colleagues, had set out from the Gerak Bareng Volunteer Post in the yard of Nurul Huda Mosque in Reo heading to Satar Padut to distribute aid. During the trip, at about 2:00 PM WITA, Ahmad Zaki, who was driving the vehicle, suddenly lost consciousness and was later pronounced dead by a doctor at the Damer Medical Post.
Based on initial info, he was thought to have been suffering from exhaustion after intensive humanitarian work since arriving in Manggarai on Sunday, August 16, 2026. The police expressed their gratitude and condolences for the late volunteer's dedication in the humanitarian mission.
