UAS Posts Photo of Keysa, a Little Girl in Bali Who Lost Her Father: Stealing a Chicken Is Wrong, but a Life Is Not the Price
Ustadz Abdul Somad (UAS) posted a photo of Keysa, a little girl crying at her father's funeral. Keysa's dad died after being mobbed because he was caught stealing a chicken. The post has been widely talked about on social media.
In his caption, UAS wrote, "Stealing a chicken is wrong, but paying for a chicken with a life can't be justified." He pointed out the irony in a country rich in natural resources yet still has so many people living in hardship.
UAS also mentioned five urgent needs of the people: good road infrastructure, free schools, jobs, free healthcare, and comfortable places of worship. If these are met, he believes things would be peaceful and harmonious.
