Taking a Break from Fasting for Health Reasons
I've got a medical condition that makes me really prone to dehydration and kidney pain, and it's been flaring up badly recently. I'm considering taking a few days off from fasting to let my body recover, but I'm not sure if that's okay. A big part of why I'm hesitant is that my mom is very devout, and I'm worried bringing this up might lead to an argument. I really don't want to stop fasting unless it's a genuinely valid excuse. Does anyone know what the Islamic guidelines are for getting an exemption in situations like this?
