Tackling Bullying Early, Nganjuk Religious Affairs Office Launches Panca Cinta Movement in Madrasahs
The Nganjuk Regency Religious Affairs Office (Kemenag) officially rolled out the Panca Cinta movement across all madrasah levels, from Raudhatul Athfal to Madrasah Aliyah. This step aims to create a safe, comfortable, and violence-free educational environment. Riza Firdausi, from the Nganjuk Kemenag supervisory team, explained that the movement adopts a character teaching system based on love and compassion through five main pillars.
These five pillars are: Love for Allah and His Messenger, Love for Knowledge, Love for Oneself and Others, Love for Nature and the Environment, and Love for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). The pillar of Love for Oneself and Others specifically targets bullying prevention by training students to appreciate friends, respect elders, and care for younger ones.
The pillar of Love for Nature and the Environment is reinforced through the concept of Eco-theology, which encourages environmental awareness like not littering. Meanwhile, Love for NKRI instills a sense of nationalism, emphasizing that santri are an inseparable part of the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia.
The implementation of Panca Cinta is integrated into all intracurricular and extracurricular activities, as well as daily madrasah culture, tailored to children's age characteristics. The Nganjuk Kemenag hopes this movement turns madrasahs into a second home that nurtures a generation of noble character, tolerance, and care for others and the surroundings.
