Considering Islam as a former Druze woman - seeking advice on acceptance and a fresh start
As-salamu alaykum, everyone. 💕 I’m a Lebanese Druze woman living in the West, and after many years of soul-searching, I’m ready to embrace Islam. I grew up without really learning about my own faith from my family, which left me feeling kind of lost and disconnected. Over the years, I’ve explored so many paths-Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, and the Druze tradition I was born into-but nothing truly spoke to my heart. Yet every time, I’d find myself drawn back to Islam. I’ve learned about the deen through friends, online, and by reading the Qur’an and Hadith on my own. Whenever I visited a mosque or attended Muslim events, I was always treated with kindness and respect, alhamdulillah. To me, Islam feels like the truth. I believe that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the final messenger, and I love how Islam honors women and gives them rights. It upholds modesty, family, marriage, and stays away from alcohol-values that feel like a safe haven against some of the harmful trends I see around me here. I suppose what I’m wondering is: will I be fully accepted if I revert? I’ve heard that when someone embraces Islam, all their previous sins are wiped away-like getting a completely new beginning. Is that true? The idea of starting fresh as a better person, almost reborn, gives me so much hope. Jazakum Allahu khayran for any guidance you can share.
