Situation Keeps Changing, Donald Trump Reportedly Refuses to Attack Iran for Now
U.S. President Donald Trump has decided to give more time for diplomacy with Iran, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal. In a meeting with national security officials on Friday (5/22/2026), Trump said he wanted to provide a chance for the diplomatic process, although no final decision has been made.
On the other hand, a CBS News report says Trump is seriously considering an attack on Iran, canceling a long Heroes’ Day vacation and staying at the White House. Some U.S. military and intelligence officers also changed their leave plans, while troop rotations at Middle East bases continue to anticipate retaliatory strikes.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned that an attack by the U.S. or Israel could expand the conflict beyond the region, opening new battle fronts.
