Questioning My Intentions – Is This Thought Haram?

Assalamu alaikum. Lately, I’ve been having this weird thought about why I practice Islam. Like, if there’s no God and death is just nothingness, then I didn’t lose much except following rules in this short life. But if Allah is real, then insha’Allah I’ll get rewarded in the akhirah. So it feels like a win-win situation. Is having this mindset haram? And if it is, how can I get rid of these thoughts? I’m kind of confused and it’s been bugging me.
