A Wafa Ahdina shared five specific moments when the rule to remove hijab was brought up during the selection process for Indonesia's Defense University (UNHAN). She posted the story on her personal Instagram account on August 20, 2026, and it went viral, getting over 7,900 likes.
In her post, Wafa broke down the events where this rule came up, from an academic interview, an evening roll call, a general health check, a morning assembly, all the way to signing the contract. One of those moments, she says, the instruction came from a former defense minister.
Wafa decided to quit just a day after being declared successful because she wasn't willing to take off her hijab. She made it clear that her post was meant as feedback so the rule could be spelled out in writing and announced from the very start of registration.
As of this writing, UNHAN hasn't given any official clarification. Netizens have been pouring in support for Wafa's decision.
