Pay Vehicle Tax in West Java Now via WhatsApp, Easy Without Going to Samsat
The West Java Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) has officially launched an annual vehicle tax payment service through WhatsApp starting May 1, 2026. This innovation lets people pay taxes without having to come directly to the Samsat office.
The WhatsApp chatbot-based service taps into the high usage of the app in Indonesia, where 90.8 percent of internet users over 16 use it. The system is also integrated with the e-Samsat feature in the DIGI app by bank bjb.
Head of West Java Bapenda, Asep Supriatna, said, “Alhamdulillah, starting May 1, 2026, annual vehicle tax payments in West Java can be done through the West Java Bapenda WhatsApp Chatbot. We prepared this service to make the process way more practical, fast, and transparent.”
Taxpayers can automatically check vehicle data through the “Sapa Warga” feature and get a payment code quickly without filling out manual forms.
