NTB's 31st MTQ Officially Closed, Central Lombok Takes Overall Champion
The 31st Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) at the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) provincial level in 2026 was officially closed by Vice Governor Indah Dhamayanti Putri in Central Lombok, Monday (6/15). The closing coincided with the eve of the Islamic New Year 1 Muharram 1448 H, reinforcing NTB's commitment as the Quran's Veranda.
The Vice Governor stressed that MTQ is not just a competition, but an effort to build a Quranic generation that makes the Quran a life guide. Success is measured by the growth of love for the Quran and the practice of its values. The provincial government will push continuous coaching to produce outstanding qari, hafiz, and mufassir.
Central Lombok Regent Lalu Pathul Bahri was grateful for the success of the event, which was considered on par with the national MTQ by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Central Lombok took the overall champion with 245 points, followed by East Lombok (177), West Lombok (147), and others. MTQ strengthens ties and Quran coaching in NTB.
With the end of the MTQ, the baton of coaching is hoped to get even stronger to realize NTB as the Quran's Veranda, giving birth to a generation with character and achievements.
