NTB Provincial Government Assures Food Stocks Are Safe, Prices Under Control Ahead of Eid al-Adha
The NTB Provincial Government together with the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) monitored prices and availability of basic commodities at Kebon Roek Market and Mandalika Market, Mataram, Thursday (5/21). Assistant II of the NTB Regional Secretariat Lalu Moh. Faozal confirmed that stocks of rice, sugar, and wheat flour in Bulog warehouses are sufficient. The slight increase in Bulog rice prices was due to plastic packaging costs, not scarcity.
Ahead of Eid al-Adha, the price of chicken cuts rose by about Rp5,000/kg due to high demand, while beef was stable at Rp140,000–150,000/kg. Shallots rose to Rp40,000–45,000/kg due to distribution costs from Bima, but prices are expected to fall when the harvest season arrives. Stocks and distribution of 3 kg LPG were also observed to be safe.
The government urged the public not to panic buy because supplies are under control. Faozal emphasized that prices in traditional markets are still reasonable without extreme spikes, so residents can welcome Eid al-Adha calmly.
