Ministry of Manpower and Sampoerna Strengthen Pancasila Industrial Relations Practices
The Ministry of Manpower together with PT HM Sampoerna Tbk held a Synergy of the Nation's Pillars event: Good Practices of Pancasila Industrial Relations in Surabaya. This event became a learning space to strengthen the implementation of Pancasila values in industrial relations, while also encouraging improvement of workforce competence through upskilling and reskilling programs. Minister of Manpower Yassierli emphasized that this activity is a real example of collaboration between the government, businesses, workers, and trade unions in building healthy and sustainable industrial relations.
The minister explained that Pancasila Industrial Relations positions workers and employers as strategic partners, not opposing parties. He appreciated Sampoerna's skills improvement program which aligns with the government's efforts to strengthen vocational training. The Ministry of Manpower is also continuously developing an industrial relations maturity framework towards a transformative level, where companies and workers together build industrial resilience.
Member of Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives Indah Kurnia expressed appreciation for Sampoerna's contribution in creating jobs and supporting women workers, including giving opportunities to women over 50. Director of PT HM Sampoerna Tbk Rianto Probo Hartono emphasized the importance of building industrial relations based on Pancasila values through trust, dialogue, and continuous collaboration. The company also supports human resource empowerment through the Sampoerna Karya Bangsa program.
This activity was accompanied by the launch of a book on Pancasila Industrial Relations Based on the Three Hands Philosophy and a cross-stakeholder talk show. It is hoped that this collaboration will further strengthen the shared commitment to building harmonious, productive, and transformative industrial relations towards a more inclusive and sustainable world of work.
