Mini Soccer Tournament Wearing Sarongs in Jombang, a Unique Gathering for Officials and Journalists

The Jombang Police held a unique mini soccer tournament where players wore sarongs, at the Jombang Police headquarters field, to celebrate the 81st Indonesian Independence Day. The goals were smaller (1.75 m × 1.6 m) and matches consisted of two 10-minute halves, with 14 clubs from various backgrounds, including police officials, village heads, journalists, and precinct officers. The opening match pitted the Jombang Police officials' team against the Jombang PWI journalists' team, won by the officials 4-0. Even though the sarongs limited movement, the tournament became a venue for friendship and togetherness among different groups. Jombang Police Chief AKBP Ardi Kurniawan said the tournament was a means to strengthen ties, build unity, and uphold sportsmanship.
