KPK Reveals Three Clusters of Grant Fund Corruption in East Java Provincial Government, 21 Suspects Named
Jakarta – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has uncovered three clusters in the alleged corruption case involving grant fund management for community groups in the East Java Provincial Government for the 2019–2022 budget year. These clusters include suspected bribe givers and recipients, with a total of 21 suspects from the regional legislature and private sector.
The first cluster consists of East Java DPRD Chairman 2019-2024 Kusnadi (recipient) and five bribe givers, including a private party who is now a member of the DPRD. The second cluster involves Anwar Sadad (Deputy Chairman of East Java DPRD 2019-2024) and his staff Bagus Wahyudiono as recipients, along with eight givers from the private sector and DPRD members. The third cluster involves Achmad Iskandar (Deputy Chairman of East Java DPRD 2019-2024) as recipient, with two givers from the private sector.
The case development started from a sting operation in December 2022 targeting Sahat Tua Simanjuntak. To date, the KPK has detained four suspects, while one suspect's investigation has been dropped due to their death.
