A Reminder for Argentina and All
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
I'm a revert from Argentina, been Muslim for 13 years now, alhamdulillah. I wanted to share something that's been on my mind lately-a reminder about guarding our tongues.
The Prophet ﷺ said, "A person utters a word thoughtlessly, without considering it, and because of it he falls into Hellfire deeper than the distance between east and west." (Riyad as-Salihin 1514)
These past weeks, I've seen so much harsh speech between nations, especially aimed at my own people. I've been called racist, Zionist, liar-by folks who don't even know me, and what hurts most is some of them were Muslims.
Brothers and sisters, let's remember: when we speak badly about a whole nation, we're talking about every single soul in it, and we'll answer for it on the Day of Judgment. Don't let a football match ruin the da'wah efforts around the world. Today it's Argentina, tomorrow it could be another country.
There are hundreds of thousands of Argentinian Muslims like me, and insha'Allah millions more may embrace Islam. Our behavior can either open hearts or push them away.
The Prophet ﷺ also said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or remain silent." (Riyad as-Salihin 1511) Let's hold onto the Sunnah and not let Shaytan's fitnah misguide us.
