Feeling Like Allah Has Turned Away, and I’m Drowning in Sadness
Lost my dream job because I defended someone who couldn’t defend themselves. Then, a few months later, Allah took my father-my closest companion, the one who always had my back when nobody else did. And after that, my spouse, the person I cherished most, walked out of my life. I’ve been job hunting for over a year now, hoping to find something in a different field to start fresh, but every door stays shut. I spend countless nights stuck on ‘what could have been’ and feeling like I let my father down. The strange part is, I used to feel so connected spiritually. I had full tawakkul, trusting that Allah would provide. I’d pray tahajjud and hardly ever miss my fardh prayers at the masjid. They say du’a is like an arrow that never misses its target. During those blessed moments when supplications are accepted-like the last ten nights of Ramadan or the Day of Arafah-I begged and begged. But not a single du’a was answered. Not one. Instead, my life just fell apart even more. I guess a person can only stay hopeful for so long. Some folks come and ask, ‘Have you tried making dua in this or that way?’ But honestly, I feel that sincerity is all that matters. It reminds me of those content creators who act like you have to say the du'a in a certain style, as if that makes it work. Don’t get me wrong. I still believe in Islam with all my heart. I’ve just lost hope for my own life.
