Struggling with a car accident trauma
Assalamu alaikum, brothers and sisters. I need your duas and some advice from our deen. A few weeks ago, me, my dad, and my sister were in a bad car crash. Alhamdulillah, my sister and I got away with just bruises, but my father suffered a severe spinal injury. He had a surgery that lasted 7 hours, and life hasn't been the same since. He's now paralyzed from about his stomach/chest down to his legs, still in the hospital, and hasn't even started rehab yet. To make things worse, we got another doctor's opinion, and he thinks the screws in his spine might not be placed right and he could need another surgery. I'm really scared. After the first operation, his oxygen levels dropped, and I'm terrified of him going through that again. I keep replaying the accident in my head and remembering how things used to be. Sometimes I look at him and can't believe how everything changed in a split second. I know Allah is Al-Qadeer and nothing is beyond His power, but dealing with this emotionally is so hard. I'm trying to have tawakkul, make dua, pray, and remind myself that whatever Allah decrees has wisdom, even if I don't see it. Some days I feel okay, other days I'm falling apart. For anyone who's been through a tough test, a shocking accident, or cared for a loved one with a spinal injury, how did you cope while keeping trust in Allah? How did you build sabr without feeling like you were just burying your emotions? Please remember my father in your duas. May Allah grant him shifa if it's best, ease his pain, guide us to the right medical choices, and give our family patience and strength. Ameen. Jazakum Allahu khayran.
