Important Hadith: Major Sins To Be Aware Of

Assalamu Alaikum, everyone. I came across a powerful reminder about major sins that really made me reflect. Here is a hadith narrated by Abdullah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: 'There are three types of people whom Allah will not look at on the Day of Judgment: 1. Someone who is disobedient to their parents. 2. A woman who imitates men in her behavior and appearance. 3. A man who has no protective jealousy over his family and allows immorality (a dayyooth). And three who will not enter Paradise: 1. Someone disobedient to their parents (mentioned again because it's so serious!). 2. Someone who is constantly consuming intoxicants. 3. Someone who gives something then keeps reminding the person about it, boasting.' Just reading that hits hard, subhanAllah. The 'look' from Allah mentioned here is a look of mercy, and these actions cut us off from that mercy. Let's break down what these mean: - **Disobeying parents** isn't just about talking back. It includes things like hurting them with words or actions, not taking care of them, putting your own spouse or kids before their needs, or just being annoyed with them. It's a huge deal. - **Imitating men** for a woman means trying to look or act like a man, going against her natural creation. - **A dayyooth** is a man who doesn't feel that protective honor over his family and lets wrong things happen around them without caring. And the ones barred from Paradise? Same with the disobedience, plus the one addicted to any kind of intoxicant (anything that clouds your mind), and the person who gives charity or a gift but then throws it in the recipient's face to make them feel small. These are major sins, friends. They bring us close to Allah's anger and punishment. The only way out is sincere repentance before we meet our end. May Allah protect us from all of these and grant us the ability to be obedient children, righteous in our conduct, and keep our intentions pure. Ameen.
