Governor Khofifah Ensures Full Preparedness of Sacrificial Animals in East Java for Eid al-Adha 1447 H
East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa has ensured the readiness for the slaughter of sacrificial animals for Eid al-Adha 1447 H/2026 M across all regions of East Java. Livestock availability is in surplus condition, with data showing 629,119 cattle ready (requirement 70,550), 940,693 goats (requirement 297,900), 484,468 sheep (requirement 58,600), and 1,698 buffalo (requirement 10).
The East Java Provincial Government has mobilized 950 veterinarians, 1,500 veterinary paramedics, and 1,997 certified halal slaughterers. Supporting infrastructure includes 208 animal markets, 2,318 sales stalls, 133 RPH-R facilities, and over 25,000 registered slaughter locations.
Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) and Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) have been significantly controlled through vaccination and monitoring. Khofifah emphasized that livestock distribution implements strict procedures, including veterinary certificates, and invited the public to carry out sacrifices while paying attention to health, cleanliness, and religious procedures.
