FMD Vaccine Still Available at 44 Thousand Doses, Blitar Regency to Get Top-Up
The Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccination program in Blitar Regency is ongoing until the end of the year. The Livestock and Fisheries Service (Disnakkan) will receive additional vaccines from the East Java Provincial Government next August.
The Head of Animal Health and Veterinary Public Health at Disnakkan Blitar Regency, Lusia Adityaningtyas, stated that the vaccine stock is still safe. This top-up is to maintain herd immunity and anticipate the potential re-emergence of FMD cases.
In early 2026, Blitar Regency obtained 44 thousand vaccine doses. Continuous vaccination has had a significant impact, with FMD cases now drastically reduced. Disnakkan still urges farmers to implement biosecurity and immediately report any FMD symptoms.
